Rain or Shine, the first FR-S Cup was still a fun time!
Even with the weather, I beleive that made it out and stayed around could call this event a big success! We want to thank everyone who attended – from racers, pit crew, vendors, spectators, and everyone in between – without you, all of it wouldn’t have been as epic as it was. A lot of appaluse also has to be given to Paul Dabao, the lead organizer and the one who first had the vision of putting on such an event! Without him and his passion for the Toyota/Scion brand and his love for RC’s, none of this would have been possible.
We will post up some pictures as well as links to some coverages soon.
In the meantime, here is a quick word from Paul Dabao:
What a day! Unpredictable weather but cooperated with the event for the most part. I want to personally thank ALL the Racers who brave the rain, a lot of new faces as well as old skool guys that came out of the woodwork just for this event. Also a shoutout to all the Vendors, you guys were fantastic. The Scion FRS owners led by Moto P, so many nice display cars, I hope the racers were able to check out the fantastic line up of Scion vehicles. Also thanks to the Concours Judges Troy Sumitomo, Mike Vu and Janet Fujimoto. Thanks to Seoul Sausage and BSweet Cupcakes, unbelievable food and dessert. To all the Scion FRS Cup Pit Crew, Justin, Michelle, Noel, Bert, Jayson, Scott, Zack, Mike C2B2, to all the Toyota/Scion MT’s. Thanks to KMA crew. Very special thanks to our Race Announcer Charlie B and crew. Big thanks to our partner HPI Racing, Andy and Aki, you guys did a phenominal job not only in fixing the broken cars of the racers but also for the fine and detailed Scion FRS bodies. Those Matte colors were just amazing. And of course this event would not have been possible without the generousity of Scion Corp, Korey T. you’re the man, Mike A and Craig T for putting this fun event. I hope everybody had a great time and let’s see if we can do this again.
Peace!!!Paul Dabao
